This is a collaboration between University of Copenhagen in Denmark, the University of Botswana and Picterus AS. The goal is to investigate the use of Picterus Jaundice Pro in a population with high melanin content in the skin.
Picterus Jaundice Pro is currently not approved for newborns with one or both parents of a skin colour scored by Fitzpatrick scale of 5 or higher (dark brown and very dark brown to black). The results of this study are used to improve our performance in all skin types. A new version of Picterus Jaundice Pro for all skin types will be released in 2024.
